Ridgewood Capital is a commercial mortgage broker originating commercial real estate loans through a proprietary network of nationwide mortgage brokers. We generate loans on a national basis while still offering exceptional customer service and representation on a local level.   Ridgewood Capital originates loans for over a dozen institutional investors including hedge funds, banks, credit unions, REITs and private capital.

Traditionally, when a capital source (bank, pension fund, REIT, private capital) wants to make loans it has had to hire and build a staff to find, underwrite and process loans. Ridgewood Capital Group is the first company of its kind to bring competent loan originators in over sixty markets and a dedicated staff of lenders to the process of originating loans on an "outsourced basis." Ridgewood Capital offers the capital source an alternative of nationwide loan origination through its Corporate and Branch Office system on an "order basis." An investor can define exactly the kinds of loan assets it wants to acquire and the terms it wants to acquire them on without having to compete in the secondary market for loans or develop its own internal loan origination structure. The investor can specify loan sizes, locations, product types, etc. This is why Ridgewood Capital is able to offer proprietary loan programs that are highly competitive in the marketplace.

All of senior management at Ridgewood Capital has an institutional lending background.  We pride ourselves on having the experience and the knowledge to represent our capital partners in the most professional way possible.  We look at deals realistically with an eye towards under promising and over-delivering.  Ridgewood Capital does not undertake to process transactions it can not close.

 
  Does Ridgewood Capital lend its own money?
 
No, Ridgewood Capital originates 95% of its loans for client Investors.  The majority of the loans that Ridgewood Capital originates are via a "correspondent" relationship with the capital provider.  All loans placed in application are targeted for a specific Investor that has has pre-screened the loan and asked Ridgewood Capital to generate an application and commence the loan process.

 
  Isn't Ridgewood Capital just a broker?
 
When Ridgewood Capital originates a loan for delivery to a client investor, it  has substantial responsibility and liability to the capital provider.  Ridgewood Capital processes most loans, issues reps and warranties, has buy-back responsibilities, etc.  These kinds of responsibilities and liabilities are not there for an average  broker.  Most brokers do not represent the money.

 
  Will Ridgewood Capital broker loans?
 
On occasion, Ridgewood Capital will broker transactions at the request of a client.  In some states where Ridgewood Capital is not licensed as a lender, Ridgewood Capital will be compensated under the laws governing the activities of commercial mortgage brokers.
